Action Speaks Louder Newsletter Call for Submissions and Volunteers
Action Speaks Louder is the biannual magazine of the Ontario Public Interest Research Group at the University of Toronto. We work to create space for students and community organizers to reflect on pressing issues within current struggles for social and environmental justice.
We are looking for your submissions on analysis on social movements, report back on campaigns and your thoughts on current campus and community organizing you’re involved in. Whether it is local or national, newly initiated or long term, tell us about it! Write an article to promote your campaign and outreach to a new audience. Previous issues have featured pieces on labour organizing, anti-racist work, Indigenous sovereignty and environmental racism. No writing experience is necessary. We work with writers to develop their pieces, providing feedback throughout the process in order to strengthen the final product.
If any of this interests you, send our editorial collective a short pitch (less than 250 words) on what you plan to write about. Email your pitch to actionspeaksloudertoronto@
If you would like to join our editorial collective, please write to us at opirg.toronto@gmail.com. The Action Speaks Louder editorial collective is a great opportunity to develop your writing, editing and production skills. No experience is necessary.
